For example, metal, stone or glass particles have no place in the production line and must be removed in time to protect both the consumer and the machines. The Antwerp company Roosjen guides clients to the right solution for this and from its new location focuses even more strongly on service and support.
Checking finished products for contaminations and weight has been an essential part of Roosjen nv's program for many years. The family business uses its own RO-MAG magnetic systems, Mesutronic metal detectors and Wipotec check weighers and X-ray machines. Every year the company sells about 200 systems, with a fast response time and extensive service as additional assets.

"Belgium is one of the smallest, yet also one of the most beautiful markets in the world," says an inspired business manager Lykle Roosjen. "Admittedly, if you only sell checkweighers or only magnets, it may not be obvious to profile yourself in this small market. But if you link your activities to a well thought-out and customer-oriented philosophy, then you are obviously able to build up a nice team of four technicians, four salesmen and three internal employees. That's how it goes at Roosjen nv. After all, our focus is not simply on selling machines, but on providing honest and informed advice according to the client's specific questions or problems."
With a classic example, the case manager reinforces his commitment: "If higher sensitivities are to be achieved in a particular project, we are quickly asked if we can provide a more sensitive metal detector or even switch to an X-ray machine. The convenience solution then is to indeed put forward an X-ray solution. In that case, however, the customer quickly spends 40-50,000 euros. Whereas you can approach it differently. We will look at the question from a different perspective and recommend, for example, free-fall detectors and/or magnets. With these you remove micron metal particles from the process much earlier and thus generally achieve much better results. That approach is the common thread within our activities and the strength of Roosjen nv on the Belgian market."

Roosjen constantly invests in the further expansion of the above philosophy. Thus, in order to literally and figuratively create additional space for the expanded services and expansion of long-term and high-quality customer relationships, in October 2019 the company moved from its offices at Antwerp's Tunnelplaats to a spacious and light-filled building at nearby Asiadok, including a workshop and showroom of no less than 1,100 m².

"We currently have three X-ray machines, 16 check weighers, 28 metal detectors and about 20 magnetic systems in stock here," Roosjen said. "Not only can we sell or rent these directly; they can also serve as test or demonstration machines, as bridging machines in the event of longer delivery deadlines or to help customers out of trouble when certain replacement parts are not in stock with them, for example." At the same time, the new building provides space for training and demonstrations. "All products can be tested here, and we can show, among other things, how they can be connected to one central network. Although we also offer that service for people who are unable to come to us. In that case, we organize a small exhibition at the company itself. Everything is mobile, and with our demo truck we can set everything up in just one hour. This is how we adapt to the customer's needs every time."
