Machines in the food industry must be impeccably clean for every batch. They must therefore be cleaned thoroughly, and that can involve high pressure, high temperature and aggressive chemicals. Until recently, geared motors were always made of cast iron or aluminum. For the food industry, these were often well enclosed, and if necessary provided with a protective epoxy coating. However, the demand for a better solution was high. Euronorm Drive Systems was one of the first manufacturers to have an extensive range of geared motors in stainless steel, especially for the food and pharmaceutical industries. A range that started with small drives, but was recently extended up to and including size 67. "A more expensive investment, yes, but above all a much more durable solution," opens Jip Verbiest, sales engineer Belgium. "In sectors such as dairy and meat processing, no risks can be taken in terms of hygiene. Depending on the application, motors there sometimes even have to be replaced after just a few months because the deterioration is too great. We noticed that customers were looking for a definitive solution to the recurring corrosion and water penetration at the drives. Therefore, we have expanded our range of drives to include stainless steel IP69K variants."
The results speak for themselves. Thanks to the JRES series, your machine passes HACCP and EHEDG inspections with flying colors. Verbiest: "The entire design is smooth, so the chance of contamination being left behind is minimal. The motors have no fan on the back, but are TENV (totally enclosed, not ventilated). This makes the design hermetically sealed, which enables IP69K protection class. Standard food-grade oil, IP69K protection class and all stainless steel makes the JRES series extremely suitable for all food applications. In short: less worries during cleaning, less downtime due to repairs and in addition the machine looks slick! As far as we are concerned a huge added value on the shop floor."
The fact that Euronorm Drive systems is so appreciated by customers has everything to do with the support they offer. "Due to our large stock in the Netherlands, our delivery time is only two weeks for geared motors up to 18,000 Nm and for motors up to 225 kW.
