Allergen Consultancy has been providing allergen management support for the food industry, retailer and foodservice since 2003. With an enthusiastic team we provide advice and training. We also supply supporting products in the field of allergen management, such as rapid tests and materials for validation of cleanings.
Allergen management is a small but important part of the quality system. We know from experience that ‘adding allergens’ leads to many mistakes and unnecessary measures and thus unnecessary costs or even a recall. Education by a specialist is therefore essential.
From different perspectives and specializations, we shape allergen policies. Our years of experience in the field of food allergy, quality assurance, auditing, design of production lines and spaces, analysis methods, specification management, labeling, risk assessments, menu adjustments and training and motivating people guarantees a practical approach. We also offer recall counseling for allergen incidents.
Allergen Consultancy offers a laboratory service with ELISA, PCR, sulfite, lactose (HPAEC-PAD), LC-MSMS analyses and additional techniques such as microscopic examination, particle size analysis and protein determination in oil and turbidity measurement of rinse water. Advice on choosing the right method, interpretation of results and comparison with standards (such as VITAL) is part of this service. Our network
Our network extends beyond the Netherlands and Flanders. Allergen Consultancy is the first European VITAL trainer and training partner of the Allergen Bureau, where the VITAL approach is developed and managed.
We are also part of ILSI Europe's Food Allergy Expert Group, a European authority with scientists from the food industry and academia to improve public health.
In addition, we are regularly requested as allergen expert in European allergen issues and in policy making. Thus, we are always up to date with the latest developments around legislation.
