IDEM can call itself a pioneer in stainless steel safety switches. Although the range is particularly wide, offering a solution for every challenge in the food industry, today we will focus on two types. On the one hand, the IDEM MLZ, the world's smallest type 4 hygienic interlock switch with RFID. On the other hand, the ESL-SS-WR emergency stop in a hygienic design for use in the most critical areas. IDEM Safety Switches products are distributed by Teleson B.V. in Utrecht.
The MLZ hygienic RFID interlock switch in 316 stainless steel is a 30 mm wide interlock with three operating points. Its super-compact size makes it compatible with even the narrowest machine safety rails. No mounting plate is required, making the interlock easy to install. With operating options on three sides, this small but powerful device is also incredibly versatile for a wide range of safety applications. Its small size does not detract from its strength and durability. This robust interlock has been tested to IP67 and IP69K and is suitable for SIP and CIP cleaning, making it ideal for use in environments with strict cleaning requirements.
The stainless steel emergency stop ESL-SS-WR is the latest addition to IDEM's range of hygienic products. Thanks to the choice of 316 stainless steel with a mirror-smooth finish, the emergency stop is easy to clean and completely non-absorbent. This means that all bacteria and germs are effectively removed by simply cleaning the surface. It's all in the smallest details. For example, the flat screw heads prevent food residues from remaining in the ‘drive section’. The smooth surface is easier to clean thanks to the rounded corners and sloping sides. The IP69K rating guarantees resistance to high-pressure and high-temperature cleaning. The button contains a special material that can be detected by both metal and X-ray detection.
