Standard materials such as cast iron or aluminum are strongly affected by these cleaning agents and may need replacement in no time. Euronorm therefore focuses on components made of durable stainless steel. The specialist in drive technology already scored highly with its JRES series of geared motors and now also has a 1024 pulse flange encoder entirely in stainless steel in its range.
Until recently, geared motors were always made of cast iron or aluminum. For the food industry, these were often well enclosed and, if necessary, given a protective epoxy coating. But that does not completely stop deterioration. So the demand for a better solution was high. Euronorm Drive Systems was one of the first manufacturers to have an extensive range of geared motors in stainless steel, especially for the food industry. A range that started with small drives, but has recently been extended up to and including size 67. "A much more durable solution," opens Jip Verbiest, sales engineer Belgium. "In sectors such as dairy and meat processing, no risks can be taken in terms of hygiene. Depending on the application, motors there sometimes even have to be replaced after just a few months because the deterioration is too great. We noticed that customers were looking for a definitive solution to the recurring problem of corrosion and water penetration on drives. Therefore, we have expanded our range to include stainless steel variants. Hermetically sealed (TENV, IP69K), completely smooth, food-safe oil as standard ... in short, less worry during cleanings, less downtime due to repairs and on top of that the machine looks slick."
Also a novelty in the Euronorm Drive Systems range are the stainless steel flange encoders of the JRSB series. Flange encoders fit seamlessly between IEC motors and their gearboxes to communicate the correct position of the motor and thus control the application. That makes for a compact solution, which machine builders naturally have their ears on. Verbiest: "We actually already had stainless steel flange encoders in the range. After all, they complete the picture of obtaining the motor as a completely hermetically sealed, hygienic whole. But now we are extending these advantages further to very precise applications. Indeed, the stainless steel encoders are now also available with 1,024 pulses per revolution so that they can always transmit correct positioning and orientation even in dynamic and demanding application. In 99% of applications, this will be standard with an IEC motor to combine. When that is not the case, customization is always possible to still offer the customer a hygienic and compact encoder solution."
The fact that Euronorm Drive systems is so appreciated by customers has everything to do with the support they offer.
