The East Flanders brewery is unpacking a new canned specialty beer: "The time when consumers associated canned beer with lower quality beer is over. Canned is just more qualitative because it preserves all the flavors.", says manager Stefaan Soetemans. Moreover, The Musketeers is driving up its production capacity to continue to meet the high demand at home and abroad.
Brewery The Musketeers has been producing specialty beers, including the Troubadour beers, for 20 years. Now, for the first time, it is launching an exclusive canned beer called "Kiss my neighbors wife. "A pioneering choice that is also better for the environment.", says case manager Stefaan Soetemans.
The choice of tin was natural for The Musketeers. "Canned beer has ecological advantages: it does not let light through and preserves aromas better. Moreover, cans weigh a lot less than glass bottles. And you exclude the transportation of empty returnable bottles that still need to be rinsed.", explains Stefaan. "Canned beer is the future. And even if some consumers are still skeptical, we are happy to take that pioneering role to change that perception."
Every year, The Musketeers sees the demand for their beers increase, both at home and abroad. Stefaan: "The structural growth makes it necessary for us to increase our capacity. We are therefore installing two fermentation tanks of 23,000 liters each. With these we are driving up the volume by about 40%. If all goes well, the installation will be complete by November. The boilers are so big that it will be placed through the roof into the house.", concludes Stefaan.
