In 2021, Pauwels Sauces donated a total of 153,600 jars of fresh pasta sauce to food banks. In this way, the sauces producer is doing its part in distributing food to those who need it most. Remarkably, Pauwels deploys special production lines to donate: "Our various contributions are deliberately planned into our production planning," it sounds.
Belgian food companies donate more than 10 million meals each year to organizations that provide food aid for those in dire need. At Pauwels, too, they have regularly donated sauces to food banks for several years. But when the corona crisis hit in the spring of 2020, supplying those food banks was not without consequences either.
The available stock there dwindled at a rapid pace, leaving Fevia a call to Belgian food companies to continue donating. That call was echoed by many producers, including Pauwels Sauzen, and so they have since increased their donations substantially. Even more: they planned productions especially to be able to donate.
