So they have to keep investing in their machinery. Jansen Techniek and Jansen Control Systems from Putten specialize in developing and producing customized machines: from idea and design, through engineering, construction to installation and maintenance. They are suppliers of the brands Marelec, Fortress, Sparc, Sollau and Cretel.

Family business Jansen Techniek develops and manufactures custom machinery for the food industry: transport and handling, weighing and sorting, portioning, meat skinning, fish de-scaling, plaice stripping and industrial scrubbers. Jansen Control Systems supplies and maintains end-of-line inspection systems, including proprietary checkweighers, Fortress metal detectors, Sparc X-ray systems, Sollau magnetic separators and Hildebrand electrostatic discharge and surface cleaning systems. "The personal approach is important. Each project starts with a visit to the customer, where we review process and product together. Then our engineers convert the idea into a 3D model, which serves as the basis for working drawings and already gives an idea of what the machine will look like," says business manager Jannes Jansen. "The system is then produced entirely in our workshop. Finally, we are responsible for installation, testing, delivery and, if necessary, maintenance."

At Jansen, innovation is key. With the Sparc Hera depositor, they offer a unique 'loss in weight' depositor for close-precision dosing of free-flowing products, such as herbs and spices, seeds and nuts, paneer, grated cheese and much more. "This system is also used for topping on ready-to-eat meals," adds Gerard Schuurman, technical advisor at Jansen Control Systems. "Whereas in the past you needed a couple of people to do this job, now this is done by a machine and those people can be used in other places in the process. In addition, accuracy is increased and there is less loss." As a partner of Fortress, high-quality metal detectors are also supplied. These can be mounted on a robust frame produced by Jansen itself and can also be combined with a Jansen checkweigher.
