The 6e edition of the fastest growing Benelux meeting for industrial automation and industry 4.0 closed Friday, May 20, at 8,847 visitors from the Benelux industry. Despite a decrease compared to edition 2019 (10,414) and slightly higher than edition 2017 (8,417), the verdict of the 240 exhibitors is quite unanimous : a successful edition, especially on the level of concrete leads who had to postpone their investments during the pandemic.
The correction is greatest among technology education visitors (from 1,338 anno 2019 to 783 anno 2022). In any case, the outlook was realistically adjusted given the challenging geopolitical conditions and the time period (May instead of February). Not insignificantly, the 6e Indumation.be, originally scheduled for February 2021 because of the pandemic was postponed twice. This also dropped visitors to the Factory of the Future Awards on Wednesday night. "Despite all the surprises and double postponements, we and our visitors landed safely," agree organizers Industrialfairs and the core team of federations Agoria and InduMotion.
Indumation.be 2022 is among season openers of summer and autumn industrial events that fiercely apply to the Western European visitor. Postponed editions of Hannover Messe, SPS Nuremberg and Milan, Global Industrie, Technishow etc., among others, are all entering a rather narrow time funnel and both exhibitors and visitors have to make choices. Tighter policies from companies with an increasingly tight and crowded workforce, struggling with a disrupted supply chain, higher energy and raw material prices, the war in Ukraine make it tough weather for industry decision makers and department heads. A strong result despite this perfect storm, agree the 3 organizing parties. On to a 7e traditional February edition in 2024!
The data below shows that the composition of visitors and decision-maker profiles remains fairly stable. Notable, however, is the increase in visitors looking for system integrators and external solution and service providers. Presumably this has to do with the higher need for external expertise and co-creation.
