Finally back a packing festival in Mechelen

After being off the calendar for a year due to corona, Empack took place again at the Nekkerhal in Mechelen on October 27 & 28, 2021. As the only professional packaging event in Belgium, Empack is the event for everyone who breathes packaging day in and day out. More than 140 exhibitors & partners and nearly 3300 industry professionals ensured Empack's success after this difficult period. Check out the video and the photos To soak up the atmosphere (again).

Award ceremonies

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the end of the first exhibition day, the very first Packaging & Label Magazine Awards were presented. These awards honor Belgian companies that have each launched a major packaging innovation in their field. In the packaging & packaging materials category, FrieslandCampina took the award and in the packaging machinery category, Engilico went home with the prize.

During the networking drink, 2 Empack Innovation Awards (jury & public) were also presented. The public prize was awarded to Autajon Labels Belgium and the jury prize to Houweling Group. Congratulations to all deserving winners!

Busy seminars & workshops

More than 350 visitors attended one or more seminars and/or workshops during both days of the fair. The seminar program with no less than +20 speakers on 'sustainability', 'digitalization and 'design' in cooperation with various partners and federations such as OVAM, Carrefour, Mooimakers,... was thus clearly appreciated!

Save the date - 2022, a year full of new initiatives

- NEW: On May 19, 2022, the first edition of 'Empack Namur - la journée de l'emballage' will take place at Namur Expo. The one-day networking event for the packaging community in Wallonia. More info on www.empack-namur.be.

- NEW: On September 14 & 15, 2022, we are launching a first edition of Empack Gent at Flanders Expo (Hall 1) with a focus on the food industry in Flanders. This new edition will take place simultaneously with Transport & Logistics.

- On October 25 & 26, 2023, the Nekkerhal-Brussels North will once again be the setting for Empack Mechelen with a special focus on Packaging Innovations.
