The first week of October 2023 is Rotterdam Processing Week in Ahoy. With this, exhibition organizer Easyfairs is creating a new platform in the Netherlands that focuses on technological developments, knowledge building and exchange, and connecting process industry professionals. The highlight? The simultaneous organization of the three trade shows Solids, Pumps & Valves and M+R.
Small, focused trade shows generally do well. So well, in fact, that Easyfairs decided to organize three top trade shows simultaneously during the Rotterdam Processing Week. The exhibitions Solids, Pumps & Valves and M+R complement each other seamlessly, so that process industry professionals can be fully informed about the latest state of affairs within this high-profile sector over two days. High-profile because the process industry can provide the answers to important social issues such as energy, water, food and health. Bas van Gent, Business Unit Director at Easyfairs: "By surrounding this event with a week full of activities - from masterclass to dinner - we are creating a total experience for the broad spectrum covered by process technology. And so we're talking about chemicals and petrochemicals, for example, but also the food industry, waste and process water and bulk goods."
Solids and Pumps & Valves are already established names in the world of trade fairs and will be jointly organized for the seventh time this year. M+R - 'Measuring and Controlling' will be added to this. Solids is a trade fair that focuses on dry materials and shows the latest technologies for handling, processing and transporting granules, powders and other bulk goods. Part of this year's program focuses on making this industry more sustainable, which means focusing on increasing efficiency and reducing energy consumption. But also on circularity and the use of raw materials with a low environmental impact. Pumps & Valves focuses precisely on the controlled and managed safe transport of liquids. With a focus on (petro)chemicals, food industry, waste water and process water, this exhibition fits perfectly within Processing Week. Moreover, the share of 'hydrogen' is growing, which immediately gives substance to the theme of sustainability, which also has specific attention here. The M+R trade fair is all about the necessary process instrumentation and automation. A logical, overarching theme that is indispensable in both solid and liquid processing for the safe but also efficient and sustainable running of the associated processes.
The grant program focuses specifically on knowledge and technology to reduce the impact of industrial processes on the environment and improve efficiency. And this is necessary, because tomorrow's industry must use mainly "clean energy. That means: (much) lower CO2 emissions, reuse of raw materials and residual heat, and explicit attention to electrification and hydrogen. Van Gent: "Although we are moving in the right direction and many sustainable technologies have already reached a mature stage, another part is still in its infancy. Precisely this part needs further development to make it profitable and safe." He continues: "A visit to this event gives users answers to the question of how to work towards a climate neutral, circular and digital asset for more economical and efficient production. Through booth visits, workshops, lectures and, of course, the many networking moments that are deliberately created, but mostly just happen. Moreover, we promise great entertainment. What that is, we are of course still keeping a secret."
