Big news in the world of collaborative robots! The Cobot Community has launched an innovative online platform that brings together end users, suppliers, experts and students to successfully automate with collaborative robots (cobots). "It will revolutionize the world of cobots," said Sander de Bont, founder of The Cobot Community.
At a time when the demand for automation is increasing daily, many companies are eager to get started with cobots or expand their current automation processes. However, many manufacturing companies would like to have the knowledge of their automation in-house so they can adapt it as their product or process changes. Automating processes with a lot of product variation is complex and therefore often still performed by humans. Cobots can show their added value here precisely because they are specifically designed to work together with humans in flexible production environments.
This is where The Cobot Community responds. The platform was created as an objective and supportive environment for cobot enthusiasts of all levels. The goal? To create a space that focuses on knowledge sharing and collaboration, promoting optimal integration of cobots across industries.
The Cobot Community's online platform offers a wealth of opportunities for different audiences:
End users: For companies struggling to take the first steps in integrating cobots, the platform provides direct access to objective knowledge and connections to experts. This significantly increases the chances of successful implementation of cobots.
Experts and Professionals: For engineers and specialists, the platform provides a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge by participating in trainings, sharing insights, and making valuable contacts within the industry.
Students: Future professionals have the opportunity to ask questions, get inspired, and connect with experienced experts. The platform also provides access to internships and educational training programs.
Suppliers: Suppliers get the opportunity to expand their network, follow market trends, collaborate on innovative solutions, and connect directly with potential customers and partners.
"The Cobot Community does more than just provide an online platform; they also deploy their objective experts to help companies with the steps to automation. This is where we distinguish ourselves from other communities. Various services are set up to make quick and decisive steps to really help the Dutch manufacturing industry." Sander said.
Some of the services that The Cobot Community provides to the manufacturing industry along with their members:
Cobot Scan: With a cobot scan, an objective analysis is carried out within the production company. After the scan, the company knows exactly what the possibilities are, has a solid business case and a solid plan to proceed immediately.
On-site workshops with cobot: Experts can provide on-site workshops for technicians and/or production personnel, for example. This offers the chance to realize the first introduction to cobot without travel restrictions. "And...because we are not a talking shop we will of course bring a cobot with us so that real experience can be built up in, for example, programming it." adds Sander.
Events and Knowledge Sharing: Knowledge sharing is a core value of The Cobot Community. Therefore, they organize and facilitate various events such as seminars, webinars, trade shows and lectures to ensure that members are always up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry.
Many companies see the benefits of cobots, but lack of time, knowledge and understanding is often an obstacle to their deployment. "Research shows that the successful integration of an innovative solution requires more than just good technology. Because cobots interact with humans, it is essential to include the human side in a cobot automation project as well. It is precisely by paying attention to the interaction between humans and cobots that a successful implementation can be guaranteed," Sander said.
For this reason, The Cobot Community deliberately chose not to set up a field lab with demo setups. Instead, the community helps directly with the end user in their own environment. This allows us to optimally guide and support the human side of cobot automation, and ensure a smooth and effective implementation.
"Over the past few years, The Cobot Community has already had the opportunity to help many companies with their steps toward cobot automation. Together with experts, students and suppliers, we get more done than ever imagined. We are decisive and know that cooperation is the key to success." Sander tells with a smile.
