What does one know after taking this course?

After completing this course, you will have an in-depth knowledge of both the legal and technical aspects of environmental issues. You will also receive, after successfully passing the exam, the recognized diploma "Environmental coordinator level B“.

Description

Since July 4, 1996, the decree on internal company environmental management and its implementing decree have imposed on many companies the obligation on appointing an environmental coordinator. Depending on the classification list in the environmental legislation, contained in VLAREM II: 150 hours for environmental coordinator B and 250 hours for environmental coordinator A.

The environmental coordinator must monitor compliance with environmental legislation in the company, identify shortcomings and formulate improvement proposals. The Flemish legislator imposes on future environmental coordinators the obligation to attend an approved course of supplementary education. The executive order defines very precisely the curriculum to be followed. Moreover, the environmental coordinator has such a demanding job that a thorough knowledge of both the legal and technical aspects of environmental issues is indispensable. Over the past few years, Syntra West, SBM and Escala have built a solid tradition of company-oriented training on environmental issues in all their aspects.

Who is this training intended for?

This course is aimed at individuals who have completed the degree of environmental coordinator level B wishes to achieve.

Admission requirements

  • Either be a holder of an upper secondary school diploma.
  • Either possess similar certificates or certificates.

Methodology

The curriculum gives students the opportunity to study in depth the various environmental issues without losing sight of the practical. A number of practical visits around environmental care, waste treatment, air and water purification are on the program. Through very practical situations, the course also focuses on measurements/analyses, noise control techniques and consulting databases.
