SBM Training: prevention consultant level 2: basic module

Be the watchdog of safety and prevention policies!

What does one know after taking this course?

After successfully completing this course, you will have the Prevention consultant level 2 diploma received that you can work with to shape the prevention policy in your company.

Introduction

More and more, employers are convinced that a thorough and well-founded prevention policy benefit their business.

Description

As a good manager, every employer realizes that a solid prevention policy must be coordinated by an appointee who knows what a risk is and has the knowledge to integrate measures against those risks into welfare policy.

The legislation also provides for the duty to have a prevention consultant appoint.

As a prevention consultant, you support the security policy of your company. You act as counselor, coordinator regarding the welfare policy. You are the advisor for the employer as well as for the employees. You are a worthy interlocutor for the employer, management, employees and their representatives, insurance companies, government agencies and all supporting external services.

Who is this training intended for?

When or how do you choose the Level 2 Prevention Advisor course?

1. Depending on the category to which your organization belongs

There are different levels of prevention advisor:

  • Level 3: basic
  • Level 2
  • Level 1: security + specializations in welfare

Organizations are divided into categories. Depending on which category your organization belongs to, the Internal Prevention Service must be organized differently.

The structure of the internal prevention service depends on:

  • Number of employees of the organization
  • The risks present in your organization

Accordingly, organizations are divided into different classes: group D, group C, group B or group A.

Brief explanation*

  • If the organization has fewer than 20 employees, the manager/employer is often the prevention advisor. Then the organization belongs to group D.
  • If an employee assumes the duties, then the organization belongs to group C. In this case, the employee should have at least basic knowledge: prevention consultant level 3
  • If the organization belongs to level B, then there is at least one prevention consultant level 2 needed
  • If the organization belongs to level A, then there is a prevention consultant level 1 needed

Both in companies belonging to category A or B, deputy prevention advisors may be needed, who may then have a lower level.

*To find out exactly which category your business belongs to, contact Supervision Welfare at Work.

2. What is your personal background? The following factors play a role:

  • Your ambitions: what organizations do you want to work for or are you working for now?
  • Your level of education or work experience in the field of welfare policy within an internal service or external prevention service (for level 2, entry requirements apply, see below)

Prior Knowledge

See admission requirements.

Admission requirements

This training consists of a multidisciplinary basic module and a multidisciplinary specialization module level 2. The multidisciplinary basic module is the same for prevention consultant level 2 and prevention consultant level 1. The specialization module is different. The basic training level 3 does not count as a multidisciplinary basic module.

You are only a level 2 prevention consultant if you have completed both the basic multidisciplinary module and the level 2 multidisciplinary specialization module.

The basic module taken with us also gives access to Level 1 specializations designed elsewhere.

Admission requirements

In accordance with the legal provisions (RD of May 17, 2007 and amended by RD of January 29, 2013), there are 2 possibilities:

  • ORWEL Hold the certificate of higher secondary education or higher secondary courses (copy of certificate must be attached to registration as proof)
