Becoming a specialist in high-quality lubricants, fluids, precision cleaners and metalworking fluids doesn't happen overnight. Translating products into the right lubrication solution for your food application requires technical knowledge and experience. Of products, but also of the processes in which they end up. That, along with the service that is always paramount, is what sets FenS apart, making lubrication the least of your worries.
FenS was started in 1990 in the Dutch town of Goes. Teamleader Inside Sales & Marketing Myrna Redeman: "Whereas the focus was initially on other sectors, such as automotive, since 2010 we have focused very explicitly on the food industry. Precisely because we can offer a lot of added value there. Both through the products in our range - the synthetic lubricants CARL Bechem offers are NSF-H1 approved - and through the know-how of our product specialists. They really know what's going on on the shop floor at food companies." Werner Sanfrinnon fills that role for the Belgian market. "We don't want to be just another supplier, but a partner for our customers. Where do their challenges lie? What can be improved?"
For the food industry, FenS works primarily with Bechem's food-grade lubricants. "You see more and more companies moving away from non-food grade products. Even in areas where no incidental contact is possible. This has everything to do with audits becoming more stringent, but also with smarter management. By switching to higher product quality, fewer different lubricant types are often needed, and that improves efficiency," Sanfrinnon knows. So what specifically are companies looking for? "A longer service life," he says confidently. "They want as little to worry about in their lubrication processes as possible, so that production stops as little as possible. The quality of Bechem products is then a very strong asset. Because of the long service life, you need less of them."
With a wide range of additional services, FenS is certainly proving its added value in that area as well. "We help our customers with lubrication plans, perform oil analyses to determine the optimal time for an oil change, make arrangements around stock management and logistics, and test whether we can offer a better alternative," Redeman summarizes. "We can also include everything. From accessories to peripherals and automatic lubrication systems. We are currently updating the web portal so that all product documentation is also available and can be downloaded by the customer. Orders can also be placed via the web shop. Everything to completely relieve customers in the field of lubrication." For What's Cooking (formerly Pluma) this is also an absolute plus in the cooperation. The charcuterie factory has been working with FenS since 2011. "Everything we can use comes from FenS," says Dirk Steurs, Purchase Technical Services. "She gets to write service with a capital S. We appreciate the stock management, the short lines and the speed with which questions are answered."
FenS not only has a wide range of lubricants for food companies, but also focuses on everything metalworkers need. From cooling lubricants to machine oils, cleaners and corrosion protectors, all of Bechem's metalworking fluids are coordinated for outstanding results and a more efficient work process. So even those who process metal to make machinery for the food industry will find the right partner in FenS.
