Controlling climate parameters accurately is a must

In production processes in the food industry, measuring and controlling various climate parameters such as humidity, temperature and CO₂ very important. CaTeC is exclusive importer for the Benelux of a broad line of measuring instruments and sensors. The core of the instrumentation focuses on measuring climate parameters and recording and analyzing measurement signals. In this article more about the KCD-HS series CO₂-transducers and the new EE072 series of measurement sensors. 

The KCD-HS series CO₂-absorbers are robust and especially stable CO₂-transmitters for a wide range of applications. They are designed to function in many applications. These include applications in industry, horticulture, incubators, fruit storage and outdoor and refrigeration applications. CaTeC has two different models in its range. One is the KCD-HS100 for ranges from 2,000 ppm to 10,000 ppm CO₂. In addition, the KCD-HS300 is capable of ranges from 2 to 20% CO₂.

Housing

The sensor is housed in an anodized aluminum rugged housing. It is easy to install. In addition, the housing of the sensor is equipped with a thin Teflon filter to protect the optical measuring cell.

Hermetically sealed electronics

The electronics are hermetically sealed from the measuring part so that when measuring in aggressive environments the electronics cannot be affected. The sensor is equipped as standard with an analog output: 0-10 V or 4-20 mA (supplier adjustable) and is also equipped with an RS 485 Modbus RTU output.

Relative humidity and temperature probes 

In addition to the CO₂-transmitters, CaTeC has several probes in its product range. The new EE072 series measuring probes meet the highest requirements in applications in challenging processes. Think of applications in the agricultural sector, pharmacy, food industry and clean room applications.

Sensor with coating

The measurement sensors are equipped with a high-quality thin film polymer sensor. This is equipped as standard with a coating against contamination and chemical contaminants. This coating ensures stable measurement results not only in the short term, but also in the longer term.

Housing

The EE072 series can be supplied in plastic and stainless steel housing and equipped with various filters for specific applications.

Modbus RTU output

An advantage of using the digital output protocol is that in addition to relative humidity and temperature, derived variables such as dew point, absolute humidity, mixing ratio and so on can also be read.

Connection

The transducers connect with a standard M21x1 connector. Various connection cable lengths are optionally available. In addition, the transducers can also be ordered with increased temperature accuracy for climate chambers, clean rooms,
incubators or operating rooms.
