Safe with only one sensor

Leuze markets the world's first Fail Safe barcode positioning system: With the FBPS 600i (PL e), only one device is needed for safe positioning.

In the past, system vendors had to use two sensors and two different technologies for secure positioning. But not anymore: Leuze's new FBPS 600i Fail Safe barcode positioning system enables position detection with a single sensor. The FBPS 600i connects to a safe processing unit via two SSI interfaces and is suitable for applications up to Performance Level (PL) e.

Simple

In intra logistics, it is important that stacker cranes and crossover trucks do not pose a danger to personnel. The position and speed must be monitored during maintenance work or when working with a manned trolley. Previously, 2 separate sensors were needed with different technical basis and PL d was the highest achievable.

Now assured one Fail Safe barcode positioning system, the FBPS 600i, applications up to the highest achievable safety category PL e and can be directly connected to e.g. an inverter and communicate via 2 separate SSI communication ports. So: less mounting, wiring, aligning, etc. and simple commissioning!

Quick

Due to the fast reaction time of 10 milliseconds, the solution for accurate positioning and a significantly shorter braking distance! Resolution is 0.15 mm (1 Sigma) and scanning speed 1000 times per second! Reading distance to barcode band 50-170 millimeters, making very robust system performance!

Safe

Due to the long-standing familiarity of barcode positioning within the industry (proven technology), there are no surprises: multiple barcodes are continuously scanned simultaneously and this scanning occurs over a large height of the code stripes so that contamination or damage has hardly any impact. The barcode tape is of high quality and resistant to many environmental influences, resilient and resistant to UV radiation. Position values are applied legibly for easy handling.

The well thought-out fastening concept (stable fastening with one screw) ensures fast commissioning of the FBPS 600i.
