For quality control and classification processes, a standard machine-vision solution is usually sufficient. But how do these work when the product is highly diverse and difficult to distinguish? For example, how do you ensure that your 2D vision system separates peanuts from hazelnuts? And how does the system see if a cookie is missing a corner or just properly baked? With Intelligent Inspection from SICK gives you a powerful deep learning-based solution for complex quality inspections and selections.
With Intelligent Inspection, SICK is now the first to make it relatively easy to make a simple SMART camera even smarter. Via deep learning training on the powerful SICK cloud server farm, you create the algorithms for rapid model analysis, then download them to your SMART camera. That's another state-of-the-art technology with high performance and a low access threshold. And the best part: no separate PC or controller is required.
Intelligent Inspection is based on SICK AppSpace. This makes the app not only easy to use as a plug-in tool for standard quality inspections and selections. Developers can also customize the application.
SICK is rolling out the application step by step. To begin with, for the deep learning 2D-SMART camera Inspector P62x. Eventually Intelligent Inspection available for all SICK-SMART cameras and the combinations of Sensor Integration Machines and compact streaming cameras.
