SICK Monitoring Box: the tool for analysis of state and application data

Anyone who wants to track the current status of sensors, machines and applications can now do so even without a major Industry 4.0 project. This is because SICK now offers the Monitoring Box. A digital solution for continuous monitoring, surveillance and analysis of sensor data. The Monitoring Box provides transparent insights into the productivity and availability of devices and installations at any time. Thus, every production environment can be optimally adjusted.

With the new solution - an interplay between hardware, gateway, sensor and application - diagnoses, statistics and forecasts are compiled based on measured data. This not only enables predictive maintenance, but also allows maintenance to be better tailored to what is really needed. Users can also set their own alerts for certain limit violations or status changes. That way, immediate action can be taken.

The Monitoring Box is widely applicable for fast visualizations in the production environment. Take its combination with the LMS 2D-LiDAR sensors from SICK. On the dashboard, for example, contamination of sensors can be easily signaled remotely. Also in combination with process sensors from SICK, the Monitoring Box shows its strength. Together with the FTMg gas flow meters (flow sensors), for example, compressed air losses can be mapped directly. In the logistics environment, the tool offers the possibility to use (safety) laser scanners to map the impact of obstacles in the vicinity of an AGV and their influence on availability and productivity.
