The AZM150 safety interlock can be combined with three different actuator keys for different installation situations: a straight actuator key for sliding doors, an angled actuator key for large swing doors and a movable actuator key for smaller swing doors. One of the pluses of the security lock is the rotary actuator key head that can be locked by placing the cover on it instead of a screw connection. The rotary actuator head features two slots, allowing a wide range of installation positions and approach options. This makes the safety interlock very flexible in use.
The AZM150 safety interlock is an electromechanical design that can be combined with a high level of security. The safety interlock comes standard with a low coding level, but is also available with an optional high coding level. The advantage for the user: in accordance with ISO 14119, a higher coding level requires fewer measures to prevent circumvention of locking mechanisms, such as mounting out of reach or in a concealed location. Schmersal is the only manufacturer able to offer electromechanical safety switches and interlocks with high coding levels.
Because of its slim, space-saving design, the AZM150 is particularly suitable for small machines and for packaging and machine tools. The safety interlock is available with working current principle and with quiescent current principle. Safety interlocks based on the quiescent current principle are preferred when the protection of personnel from dangerous trailing movements is intended. Safety interlocks with working current principle are ideal for ensuring process safety because with these components, access to the danger zone remains guaranteed in the event of a fault, such as a power failure. One of the practical features of the AZM150 is that the safety interlock with a mounting plate can be easily installed on 40 mm grooved profiles. Moreover, it can also be optionally equipped with an on 40 mm groove profiles. Moreover, it can also be optionally equipped with a panic release or an emergency release.
If required, the AZM150 can be supplied with a locking pliers. This option protects operating personnel from accidental entrapment in larger, walkable systems and machines while performing maintenance and repair work. To ensure safety, maintenance personnel attach a padlock to the turnbuckle on the safety interlock when entering the hazardous area. This prevents the safety door of the system from closing and prevents the accidental start of the machine. A maximum of six padlocks can be attached to the turnbuckle, i.e. a maximum of six people can enter the danger zone at the same time. Starting in 2021, the AZM150 will be released for sale.
