Automation24 is expanding its comprehensive portfolio in the food industry with new switchgear and the ability to configure individual products. Many processes in the food industry can be simplified by using high-quality automation technology.
"Special requirements are placed on the protection of the system's technical components from contamination and during cleaning processes," says Fernando Jiménez, one of the two sales managers responsible for Benelux. This is why Automation24 is expanding its already extensive portfolio for the food industry. With the enclosures HD (Hygienic Design) from Rittal, the online shop now offers suitable solutions for hygienic environments. With these enclosures, control and monitoring components are optimally protected from possible contamination, water and chemical cleaning agents during the production process. The control enclosures are made of stainless steel and available in different sizes. They have protection class IP66 and therefore offer excellent protection against water and dust.
With a 30-degree sloped roof, the cabinets are designed so that liquid used in cleaning can be drained immediately. To prevent the penetration of moisture, the doors have a sealing silicone joint on the outside. Thanks to the blue color, food contamination is quickly visible. Using a supplied mounting plate, various elements can be reliably accommodated in the control cabinet.
In industrial food production, the focus is not only on compliance with hygiene regulations, but also on consistent product quality and high profitability. Therefore, according to Jiménez, the standard does not always meet all customer requirements and adaptation is needed. "To comprehensively support our customers in choosing the right process instrumentation, the products are labeled with the appropriate protection class. With our new configurator, our customers can now quickly and easily create individual applications, such as sensors, according to their own requirements. Every detail is thought of. Be it the size of level sensors or the measuring range of temperature or pressure sensors. If further advice is needed, please do not hesitate to contact us."
Thorsten Schulze, responsible within the management board for assortment management, adds: "With this tool, we want to offer our customers the opportunity to find solutions that can be quickly and easily adapted to their personal requirements. At the same time, they can also order standard products from the same store instead of having to buy them from different retailers or manufacturers. Configured by the manufacturer or directly by our staff, the made-to-order products are delivered ready for assembly."
In addition to photocells and light sensors, inductive or capacitive sensors from various manufacturers can also be used for reliable position detection. For measuring and controlling processes, customers can use pressure, temperature and level sensors in appropriate protection classes and hygienic designs. For example, the Liquiphant FTL33 vibronic level detector from Endress+Hauser reliably measures the level of liquids regardless of media properties. Reliable and durable seals can be realized with various connection technologies. In the field of process analysis, Automation24 supplies conductivity sensors, pH sensors and analysis transmitters. Process progress can be recorded and visualized with data loggers such as the Ecograph from Endress+Hauser.
