The miniature sensors of the new SICK W4F series can meet the toughest challenges

The miniature sensors from the successful W4 Series have been known for decades as true problem solvers: no application so difficult or the sensor series has a solution for it. With the new W4F series, SICK establishes the fourth generation that brings together the experience of the previous generations and more than two hundred specials.The new W4F series is not only available in different optical variants, such as with micro-line spots, but also offers the best of what is currently on the market in terms of black-and-white separation and ambient light suppression. Even in the suppression of shiny objects in the background, the W4F series has no equal. For maximum process reliability, the W4F sensors are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and monitoring functions. They provide data such as temperature, number of running hours and quality of teach. Handy: not only the switching points, but also the amount of light received is insightful.

The W4F series sensors are easy to set up. This can be done via IO-Link, by pressing the teach button or by using a programming pin. The BluePilot function makes it easy to read the switching position and alignment with a reflector or transmitter-receiver.

The W4F series miniature sensors are ideal for, among other things, presence checking of small objects and fine positioning of products and components. In addition, they are perfect for detection of deep black (<1% remission), shiny, transparent or perforated objects, and anyway for detection tasks under difficult conditions. Information on the amount of light received can even distinguish between products based on reflectance.
