Why choose Dertec stainless steel gearboxes and motors?

Dertec stainless steel gear motors are easy to clean and offer a proven design for Clean in place applications and sanitary areas. Special shaft seals and Duplex stainless steel hardened shaft offer long life. Dertec stainless steel motors feature high-quality bearings, suitable to withstand the harsh conditions of the food industry. This doesn't just stop at the bearing specifications. All bearings feature hydrophobic, food-grade lubrication suitable for high temperatures to extend the initial life of the bearings.

Type shield

All Dertec stainless steel gearmotors and electric motors are provided with a lasered type shield.

Nameplates on standard geared motors are prime areas for bacterial growth. The small opening below the nameplate provides an ideal place for bacterial growth. Nameplates can corrode, become damaged or detach from the housing without knowing where the nameplate went. This can also lead to traceability problems in your food production line.

IP seal

According to IEC standard 60529, the IP code consists of two digits. In general, the higher the digits, the higher the protection. The first digit represents the ingress of solid particles or dust particles. The second digit is an important digit for the food industry as it stands for protection against penetration of moisture / water. Dertec stainless steel gearmotors are standard rated as IP66 and can be rated as IP67 or IP69. Please refer to the standard for correct application of your desired IP classification. Our sales team will be happy to work with you to determine the appropriate IP Class for you.

IP67 and IP69 are different test methods and intended for different industries and applications. Check the official standard and understand the differences. IP69 is not automatically better than IP67, in many cases IP67 even satisfies significantly better than IP69. Junction box

Dertec stainless steel gearmotors and electric motors are equipped with a circular terminal box. The terminal box ( FP2SS Series ) is part of the motor housing.

An optionally available Dertec hygienic cable gland ( EHEDGE) that properly fits your cable diameter provides a hygienic and well-protected against moisture.

The new series of Signature line stainless steel motors will feature a brand new design terminal box. This new terminal box has a similar round design, but can be rotated 360 degrees to provide the best possible cable entry position. The newly designed terminal box offers double seals against moisture ingress. Applying hygienic seals between the terminal box cover, base plate and mounting also provides hygienic protection. ( EHEDGE ). Optionally, this terminal box can be equipped with a plug connection to simplify the process of connection and replacement.

In 2021, as part of the new Signature line, Dertec introduced the newly developed stainless steel permanent magnet synchronous motor. This motor is highly efficient and complies with IE4 / IE5 regulations. Signature Line PM synchronous motors offer a hygienic design, high efficiency, high starting torque and a high Cos Phi which is present both at part load and full load.(approx. 0.92) The interesting combination of the Dertec Signature line design and the energy efficient PM motors is ready for the future where energy efficiency is becoming more and more important.

Inverter use

Dertec stainless steel motors are suitable for use with frequency converters. All Dertec stainless steel motors are equipped as standard with PTCs and Bi-metal contacts. For further monitoring, we offer optional PT1000 temperature monitoring elements.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Dertec stainless steel motor gearboxes resist corrosion

The housing of the gearboxes is always stainless steel 316 ( Wstnr.14401), the housing of the electric motors is stainless steel 304 ( Wstnr 14301)

Stainless steel offers a corrosion-resistant surface without flaking paint or coatings. The round and organic design is ideal for use in hygienic applications. The lack of sharp corners and angled surfaces help reduce dirt build-up. For special applications, Dertec offers special seals and possibly additional features to further enhance the hygienic properties of the standard stainless steel used. (Fisheries applications).

Special shafts and flanges

The standard IEC motor flange ( B5 / B14a / B14b) is widely used in combination with gearboxes, pumps or fans. Dertec also offers special solutions for customized machines. See image below of a motor with special extended shaft or shaft-flange combination suitable for mounting on, for example, SEW gearboxes.

TENV / TEFC / TEWC

Dertec stainless steel motors are fully enclosed (TENV) up to 0.75 kW are supplied without a cooling fin. From 1.1 kW, the Dertec stainless steel motors are standard equipped with a cooling fin ( TEFC ) Dertec stainless steel motors are available from IEC56 to IEC160. For extremely high ambient temperatures, Dertec optionally offers water-cooled motors. (TEWC)

Thanks to their higher efficiency, the new Signature Line PM motors can be supplied without a cooling fin up to and including 1.5 kW.( TENV) The delivery program includes 4 pole motors 0.25 to 1.5 kW in both foot and flange versions. Dertec Signature Line PM Motors are available from IEC71 to IEC90.

Dertec stainless steel motors are CE certified. For export to the US and Canada, Dertec motors are UL / CSA certified under number UL E506337.
