CC Netherlands has been working with the ILME brand for many years. ILME is a manufacturer of high-quality connectors. You can find ILME connectors in various industries, including the food industry. With the T-Type, ILME offers a specially adapted connector with hygienic design. ILME continues to develop in this field and has recently updated the T-Type with improved features. In this article you can read all about these new connectors.
When developing these T-Type connectors, a number of important connector requirements of the food industry were taken into account. We have listed these supplemented by practical experience from CC Netherlands specialists in this field.
Freezing cold or just hot areas where food is processed: the food industry has areas with varying temperatures.
With proper installation, it is unlikely that parts of connectors will ever come loose. Should this happen, easy detection between foodstuffs is essential. A blue color is easy to recognize because this color is rarely found in foodstuffs. There are no blue organic constituents.
The materials must be resistant to commonly used cleaning agents.
Easy to clean under high pressure
The connector must withstand high-pressure cleaning. No water should enter the housing during cleaning operations. A high IP rating guarantees this.
Although the previous ILME T-Type series already met hygiene standards, the updated ILME T-Type has been improved in several areas. Below you can read all the features of this updated T-Type:
The updated series has an improved logo with reduced surface roughness. In addition, the mounting brackets have been modified with rounder corners. These modifications make the connector easier to clean and reduce the possibility of dirt or moisture in seams.
A modification of the mounting brackets has made the connector even easier to install and improved grip on the bracket.
The standard ILME T-type/H can withstand temperatures from -40 °C to +70 °C. Do you want to use the connector in freezing areas from -40 °C to -50 °C? Then ILME also offers a special T-TYPE/C 'Hygienic Cold' series. This series has - instead of HNBR rubber - a silicone seal. This seal makes this type of enclosure suitable for temperatures down to -50 °C.
EHEDG stands for European Hygienic Engineering Design Group and provides guidelines for the characteristics of hygienic design. The American market works with similar requirements set by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). An important feature in this guideline is the use of a blue signal color (RAL5015). This color immediately stands out because blue is prevalent in the food industry.
The mounting brackets of ILME connectors feature this blue color and are securely mounted to the connector. If this bracket does become loose, the blue color immediately stands out among the food product. In addition, ILME has incorporated a special graphite in the brackets, allowing metal detectors to detect them easily. The hygienic connectors are also suitable for use in the '
The T-TYPE/H and T-TYPE/C are tested according to the "F&E/ P3-E n. 40-1 protocol" of ECOLAB (leading detergent manufacturer). As a result, the ILME connectors have ECOLAB certification, making them resistant to common disinfectant, alkaline and acidic cleaning agents for the food industry.
Depending on the housing chosen, all of ILME's T-types are IP66 and IP69 tested. This means that the connectors are fully protected against dust and high-pressure cleaning
The ILME connector is resistant to a wide selection of chemicals or substances, our experts have exactly which ones they are.
In addition to the above features, the ILME T-type series is also more economical than the much more expensive INOX stainless steel connectors. CC Netherlands has all hygienic T-Type connectors well in stock. Take a look in our assortment and filter, if necessary, on properties such as construction size, thread type or desired IP value.
