Gearbox and motor in one

NORD has now integrated this highly efficient IE5+ motor with a single-stage geared motor, further optimizing system efficiency. Compact installation space, high power density and very low noise production are just some of the advantages.

The new DuoDrive gearbox/motor combination features high system efficiency and consistent version reduction combined with a smooth, unvented and compact design. The elimination of multiple wear parts results in less maintenance. Combined with easy commissioning of the complete solution via plug-and-play, this results in a significant reduction in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to existing drive systems. DuoDrive is suitable for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries and in internal logistics.

Integration consistently taken to the next level

DuoDrive is a revolutionary integrated gearbox/motor concept from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS in a hygienic wash-down design, combining the IE5+ synchronous motor and single-stage gearbox in one housing. As a system, the very compact DuoDrive concept achieves significantly higher energy efficiency than the already proven LogiDrive concept, combining the IE5+ synchronous motor with the NORDBLOC.1® bevel gearbox. With an efficiency of up to 92%, DuoDrive currently offers the highest efficiency of the gearbox/motor combinations available on the market in this power class and achieves very high system efficiency in the part-load range. The drive system is thus future-proof and offers actual cost reduction. The first DuoDrive size available includes gear unit speed ratios from i = 3.24 to i = 16.2 and is designed for torque ranges up to 80 Nm and speeds up to 1,000 min^-1.

Full compatibility with market standards

Like all products in the NORD program, DuoDrive is compatible with NORD drive electronics and can be equipped with all common hollow shaft sizes (20 to 40 mm) and flange versions (B5 and B14), or with a reaction arm. For motor connection, depending on customer requirements, Harting HAN connectors, M12 round plug connectors or direct wiring are available. In addition, various options are available for Duo Drive, such as encoder feedback or a holding brake. DuoDrive is easy to clean, corrosion and wash-down resistant, making it ideal for use in hygiene-sensitive and harsh environments. It ensures higher system availability and lower cleaning costs due to less cleaning work.
