B&R's ACOPOS P3 servo amplifier is now available with pass-through cooling outside the control cabinet or cold plate cooling. These new cooling solutions dissipate up to 60% of heat loss outside the control cabinet. This makes it possible to use much more compact cabinets because fewer fans and air conditioners are required or can even be omitted completely. Operating and maintenance costs are reduced.
The new ACOPOS P3 cooling solutions are suitable for any number of shafts in all power classes. With no more fans and air conditioners bringing outside air into the control cabinet, there is significantly less dust being sucked in. This significantly reduces the need to stop the entire machine for maintenance work such as changing air filters. Machine availability goes up as a result.
By using pass-through cooling, up to 60% of the heat is delivered directly to the ambient air outside the control cabinet. Costly cooling of the control cabinet itself is not required. The heat sink provides IP64 protection and meets EN 60529 and UL 50 Type 12 standards. The fan located on the heatsink provides IP54 protection.
Cold plate cooling uses a water-cooled plate to dissipate virtually all the heat generated by the device through a coolant. As a result, control cabinets require significantly fewer fans and air conditioners, reducing costs. Cold plate cooling works in conjunction with a machine's own cooling system.
