The story of Deprez begins 35 years ago. Managing director Johan Deprez designed an innovative machine to transport potatoes without damaging them. From the agricultural sector, they also landed in the food industry. "Innovation is still the main driving force in everything we do. We always try to find a solution to our customers' issues. To build top-quality machines, Deprez also needs top-quality components. More than 25 years ago, it therefore joined forces with drive and control specialist Elsto Boekholt Drives & Controls. Deprez: "A receiving hopper is a typical application with high torque and low speed. Traditionally, this is solved with a chain transmission. For a machine builder, however, this is not the most desirable solution. They load themselves a bit more difficult to install. Maintenance is also not obvious. Fortunately, we found an innovative alternative at Elsto: the 300 series planetary gearboxes. They are still our first choice in applications with landfill hoppers or loading towers."
But what then makes them the ideal solution for Deprez Handling Solutions? "The 300 series is particularly compact and powerful with a high efficiency and allows itself to be inserted beautifully vertically. That way, no dirt can remain in them, which is crucial in the food industry. They are also hygienically designed so they are easy to clean. Elsto also makes a difference with Service.
