Automation is a learning journey
KoMotion seeks and finds customized solutions for, primarily, end-of-line applications.

Automation is a learning process

Products, quantities, packaging, speeds, operators and conditions differ from project to project and require a different approach each time. It is the preferred playing field of machine builder KoMotion, which searches for suitable (and sometimes unexpected) solutions with great enthusiasm.

A young company with loads of experience is how KoMotion can be described. Before they founded their own company in 2019, managers Kris Clompen and Kim Aerts were already active in automation and machine construction for several years. The knowledge, skills and enthusiasm they acquired there are now fully applied to the development of customized solutions for, mainly, end-of-line applications, whether it concerns a modification, retrofit or complete turnkey solution.

Proof of concept

Solving, that means questioning, trying and optimizing. Sometimes it also means stepping outside the box. This open-mindedness characterizes KoMotion's approach, which searches for creative solutions even within the sometimes strict framework of predefined budgets, current safety requirements and any other preferences. However, creative in no way means non-committal. On the contrary. Theory and practice go hand in hand at KoMotion, and in order to test the feasibility and efficiency of certain concepts, the company starts working early on with 3D models, test setups and, if necessary, in situ experiments. An in-house cobot is also regularly programmed and reprogrammed for this purpose. If this does not lead to a fully-fledged proof of concept, it at least exposes the practical difficulties and pitfalls.

Local partner

However, despite all preparations, the learning process of automation never ends with the delivery of a machine. The integration of a cobot, for example, but also automation in general, is by definition an iterative process that can only be completed and optimized on site. A local and flexible partner who can intervene quickly offers enormous advantages in that respect. Among others, Vandemoortele in Izegem, Crelem Bakeries in Asse and Roltex in Erembodegem are now familiar with the faces of KoMotion. Want to meet them yourself? You can do so via the KoMotion website.
