Complete supply chain under one roof

Supply chain. The word has been all over the papers this past year. Food companies actually need to look beyond the packaging alone. Every link in the logistics chain is important. Easyfairs therefore brought the entire supply chain together for the first time at Flanders Expo Gent on September 13, 14 and 15 by organizing three events simultaneously: Empack, Transport & Logistics and Logistic & Industrial Build. From packaging and filling to logistics and transport. A bull's eye according to the 7,500 professionals who attended.

More than 250 exhibitors and partners, 47 keynote speakers and 32 conferences. These are figures that speak volumes and tell something about what was on offer on the exhibition floor of Flanders Expo Ghent from September 13 to 15. Empack was the setting for a whole series of informative sessions in cooperation with renowned partners (Pack4Food, Fevia, Flanders'Food, PEFC, Indufed ...) that addressed trending topics about the entire supply chain. In total, some 764 visitors found their way to the conference rooms at one of the three exhibitions. For Empack and the packaging industry, sustainability and circularity were clearly high on the visitors' agenda. Visitors had every opportunity to update their know-how around these topics, gain insights into new trends and discover growth opportunities for their own companies.

Innovation Awards

After all, the packaging industry never stands still but is always moving to meet changing consumer demands. Not easy then to keep your finger on the pulse. That trade shows are the mecca of innovation spotting for visitors was not lost on the organizers. Companies offering interesting new products and services were flagged on the exhibition floor with a special logo. A route efficiently led visitors along the main innovations, feel free to call it an Innovation Journey. The participants also competed for the Innovation Awards. These were festively handed over during the joint afterwork event on September 14. The jury awarded DeeDee Pouch Professionals, the public's vote went to Autajon Labels Belgium. In addition, the organization presented the Marketing Award to Presa for bringing in the most visitors.

Next year on Oct. 25 and 26

A total of 2,600 visitors finally visited this edition of Empack Gent 'the future of packaging'. For them, this event was the easiest and fastest way to get up to date with all the evolutions in the sector. At the end of the three-day event, the organizers were extremely satisfied. Many visitors crossed over between the different fairs, which led to interesting cross-pollinations. Next year, Empack will take place in the Nekkerhal-Brussels North in Mechelen on October 25 and 26. This time, space will be made there for a central Packaging Innovations zone, which will focus specifically on packaging design. Transport & Logistics and Logistic & Industrial Build will be in home port Antwerp from October 17 to 19.
