Until recently, production was still done manually and via 20 control boxes. Innomatic automated the production process, thus guaranteeing both the continuity of production and the quality of the final product.

In order to control the production department from one platform, Innomatic installed 1 central PLC with different HMIs in production and packaging. The connection between the different installations and their corresponding PLC was very important: from now on they can be synchronized and controlled remotely. Without anyone being present in the company, production can be started, or loading and unloading can take place. This is done through intuitive, accessible operation.

Innomatic also paid a lot of attention to data logging and reporting in this automation process. Temperature, weight, level and pressure can be constantly monitored. As a result, quality is even higher and smooth reporting is possible. In case of problems, the operator receives a notification on the HMI and via e-mail, including an overview of the necessary actions to solve the problem.

The plant is super-reliable because it is equipped with redundant networks, power supplies and an UPS. So production continuity is always guaranteed. And thanks to constant monitoring, the quality of the final product has increased. Thus, Het Bijenhof became an example of Industry 4.0.
