Food producers and processors are working tirelessly to improve our food supply: not only must it be tastier, healthier and fresher, but it must also keep longer and longer. This requires faster, more efficient and sustainable processes with minimal waste. Here, quality assurance, food safety, hygiene and process optimization are essential.
The Food Tech Event on May 15 and 16 in the Brabanthallen in 's-Hertogenbosch brings together the entire food chain to work together on solutions to current and future challenges. Think of a more sustainable supply chain and the increasing production costs of food.
The Food Tech Event puts a strong focus on technical applications and mechanical engineering in production and processing environments in the food and beverage industry. "Where the focus is often on the food of the future, the Food Tech Event is about the technical solutions of today and tomorrow," said Judith van den Nieuwenhuijzen, Program Manager Food Tech Event at Mikrocentrum. "We see food producers and processors working tirelessly every day to improve our food, but also that the needs from society are changing dramatically. This calls for ever faster, more efficient and sustainable production and processing of food and
beverage companies, but also to reduce waste. These are current challenges where practical applicable technical solutions really make a difference!"
Under the slogan "Technology fuels the future of the food industry," the Food Tech Event focuses on six themes. Van den Nieuwenhuijzen says: "These six themes represent the topics where many companies in the food and beverage industry see technical challenges and where companies from the high-tech and manufacturing industry can really help. With practical cases in the conference program and an exhibition floor with various theme squares, you therefore have one place where you can gain practical knowledge within these themes and where you can meet companies that can quickly help you further."
- Machine building, equipment construction and engineering for production and processing lines.
- Food safety and hygiene in production environments.
- Future Food Factory: digitizing and automating.
- Quality management and control.
- Energy management and conservation in the production environment.
- Lifelong Development.
During the Food Tech Event you will meet over 100 technical professionals working at companies active in and for food processing and manufacturing companies. Think of Hoppenbrouwers Techniek, Topa Packaging, Spako Food Machinery and Bakker Machinebouw. But also during the two-day conference program you will discover use cases and tips from prominent companies, innovations and applications for automation and digitalization. Below you can find some highlights of the program and the exhibition floor:
- Visit the keynotes from Bolletje & QING and GEA Food Solutions.
- Listen to seminars from Food Industry Journal, EHEDG and Water Alliance.
- Learn more about AI in food during QING's live demonstration.
The various panel discussions in the conference program provide a platform where inspiring conversations and knowledge exchange take place. Here, various experts from different fields of expertise engage in conversation to discuss the latest developments, challenges and opportunities for food production and processing. Some of the panel discussions include:
- Mechanical Engineering in Food - GMV and EVMI: May 15, 1:45 p.m., Room 1.
- Automation and Digitization in the Future of Food Processing - Next Tech Food Factories: May 16, 10:30 a.m., Room 1.
The Food Tech Event is organized by Mikrocentrum on May 15 and 16 at the Brabanthallen in 's-Hertogenbosch. Admission for visitors is free on both days. Here you will discover all techniques, innovations and technological developments for food production and processing.
