SICK W12 Laser: the new all-rounder for presence detection

"Give me a sensor that can detect anything within a meter!" With the new W12 Laser SICK pretty much meets this much-heard customer demand. Whether it is transparent, highly reflective or very dark objects, small objects passing by at high speed or not, or objects at long distances, thanks to the latest SICK chip technology and magnificent ambient light suppression, this one-size-fits-all solution can be used for many applications within a machine.

The new laser photocell is the successor to the W12L-3, introduced in 2008, making it the fourth generation of the successful W12 family. In addition to detection performance, the W12 Laser stands out because of its metal housing. This allows the photocell to be used even in the harshest environmental conditions: dust, wood chips, grease deposits - nothing seems to faze the W12 Laser.

Its availability is unprecedentedly high, thanks in part to integrated predictive maintenance functions.
