With the OFG finger gripper, Schmalz has a gripper in its range that grips precisely and gently. Sensitive foods such as doughnuts, chocolates, vegetables and fruit thus get into the packaging safely and without damage.
The OFG finger gripper was developed to automatically process unpackaged food products. The four slim flexor fingers imitate the human hand and are made of silicone. When the pressure in the gripper is increased, the finger bends and forms appropriately around the product to be gripped, just like a human hand. The OFG gripper thus quickly places sensitive products accurately into packages and trays.
THE FDA-compliant version is ideal for hygienic applications; the pet-P (polyethylene terephthalate) housing is designed to be easy to clean. Alternatively, the gripper comes with a basic aluminum housing. This model is suitable for applications in industrial environments, such as warehouse logistics or as an assembly tool. Optionally, a centrally located bellows suction cup increases gripping force and stability when moving. While the "Basic" control unit implements opening and closing via vacuum and pressure, the "Controlled" control allows parameter configuration via USB or a serial interface. Users can also integrate a robot controller and infinitely adjust the opening angle and gripping force. The OFG operates in the pressure range of -0.8 to a maximum of 1.6 Bar. It has a repeat accuracy of ±0.06 millimeters at a gripper speed of 0.05 seconds. The finger gripper is heat-resistant to 200 degrees Celsius and protected against water and dust according to protection class IP68.
